Establishment of Tea Board and Functions
The Tea Board of Tanzania TBT) is a corporate body established by the Tea Act No. 3 of 1997 after the separation of the regulatory and development functions of the then Tanzania Tea Authority.
It is entrusted with the mandatory responsibility of regulating the tea industry in Tanzania.
The Board came into force on the 1st October 1997. The main functions as set out in the Tea Act No. 3 of 1997 are as follows:
Regulating the tea industry in terms of control and improvement of the cultivation and processing of tea,
Licensing of tea blenders and packers,
Collecting, keeping and maintaining statistics related to tea industry,
Control of pests and diseases,
Assisting in the investigation of research relating to all matters of the tea industry,
Representing the Government at International fora relating to or dealing with the Tea, and
Performing any functions as the Minister may consider necessary.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect the vehicle before and after the trip to determine the safety condition of the vehicle;
ii.To send staff to various places on business trips;
iii.Doing minor car repairs;
iv. Keeping a record of all trips in the “Log-book”;
v.Collecting and distributing various documents;
vi.Provide technical advice on vehicle safety and operation;
vii.Do car cleaning; and
viii. To perform such other duties as may be assigned to him by his / her related leader and his education and work skills.
