What We Do

We Strengthen and Develop the Provision of Internet Government Services to Public Institutions

e-GA intends to implement various interventions to help public institutions provide effective internet services. The implementation will be done by doing the following:

Addition and improvement of government service delivery methods network
Provision of counseling services and technical support

Improving human resource capacity in institutions,
Facilitate access to secure and reliable Government network infrastructure and systems network

Strengthening and coordination of cyber security efforts in public institutions.

Who We Are

Government Internet Authority (e-GA) is a public institution established by the Government Internet Act No. 10 of 2019.

It is an institution with the authority to coordinate, monitor and promote the efforts of the Internet

Government as well as to encourage the implementation of Government Policies, Laws, Regulations, Standards and Guidelines for Public Institutions.

The establishment of this Authority in 2019 promotes the interventions of the Government Agencies Network (eGA) and participates in its plans because the responsibilities of these institutions are similar although they differ in executive authority.

The Government Internet Authority is an institution that inherited the Internet Government Agency created in April 2012 by the Government Agencies Act no. 30 Chapter 245 of 1997 responsible for the Authority for Coordinating, Monitoring and Promoting Internet Efforts in Tanzania.

Prior to the establishment of the Government Internet Agency, the use of ICT in the Government was coordinated and managed by the Systems Management Department (DMIS) located in the Office of the President, Public Service Management which is currently the Department of ICT Services (DICTS).

Government Act Network No. 10 of 2019 has identified the roles and powers that guide the Internet Government Authority in the implementation of the Internet Government in Tanzania.

To create an enabling legal environment for the coordination, management and promotion of the use of ICT to improve the delivery of government services to the public.

JOB SUMMARY NA

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Managing records systems, maintaining and overseeing the use of records of Ministries, Departments

Independent, Archives, Regions, Municipalities, District Councils, National Documents and Organizations

Public Service according to location;

ii. Identifying and searching records in the Registers of Ministries, Regions, Independent Departments, Municipalities, Local Councils

Districts and National Archives;

iii. To control the system of computer-generated records, to maintain and monitor its use in the Ministry, Department

Independent, Institutions and Local Governments depending on their location; and

iv. Other duties to be assigned to him by his supervisor.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Employed with a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Records management and Archives and its equivalent from Government Recognized Colleges.

Be computer literate.
